It was a month ago, when the Facebook bug hit me politely. I sat hours and hours browsing this Universal book and unexpectedly found a few rather many of my school friends.
Meeting virtually after 14 years was pretty amazing and one fine day while chatting to one of them, this idea STRUCK me "how about e-mailing everyone of them with a short story of our school routine(then)".
And I did e-mail everyone hoping for different replies.
But as days passed by something STRUCK me again "their(s) inbox is flooded with loads of announcements and one of them being mine, it might have gone Unnoticed".
So finally it came here, which is as follows:-
It was the Class IV-B (1998-1999), the Snacks break had just finished, all pupils have settled at their respective seats waiting for the Hindi Period (Period Number 4) to commence.
And within a few minutes the teacher enters the class (Ms. Kamaljeet), students stand up to wish her and with in 5 minutes everything is settled. The class Monitor (Karan & Anika) commence their routine work, showing their favorite SYMBOL on blackboard "+1+1+1", "Mam, Ishdeep has been talking all the while after continuous warnings were given to him" says Anika.
The teacher says,"Are iska to roz ka kaam hai, chaliye aap apni seat par bhethiye, aaj naya chapter shuru karenge". She further continuous, "Himani bete, chapter number 6 'Hansi Ke Mukhote' parhna shuru kijiye, mein isko samjhati jaungi".
Himani a short girl stands up smartly, and holding her book in her hand starts narrating the Chapter. The Chapter is just half read when the bell rings, depicting the sign of next Period.
Mam then follows up, "Chaliye, baki ka kal parenge, aur mein is chapter ko samjhaungi", with this the teacher leaves the class.
And again the Monitors of class come in front and start chalking their favorite Symbols on blackboard and waiting for the next teacher to come. The Monitors were busy with their work, when a boy from a Senior Class shows up and informs the class to gather in the Assembly Ground.
The Students line up and start moving towards the destination and on the way the class teacher "Mrs. Anupama" joins the students and instructs them further. The students occupy their so called Seats i.e. the Ground Itself, and start plucking the grass nearby them, and some person on stage starts his speech.
After 4 hours the Gathering is almost on the verge of sleeping and finally they are set to go to their respective classes. The time they reach their classes is when the school gets over.
And all are set to go to their homes.
To be continued…
